I had a few days off last week, with grand plans of sunrise trips to Durdle Door; night excursions to try out some star photography somewhere nice and dark… so of course it poured with rain and I immediately got a cold.
(I think this is actually recognised – something like “leisure sickness” when stress hormones get out of balance as your body relaxes on holiday)
Anyway, after the worst of my cold had passed so had the clouds, so I took myself off for a little trip to Swanage.
The waves were pretty aggressive…
… but got a good telling off from this fierce dog, who just stood barking at the sea.
I did a loop of Peveril Point, taking pictures of the seagulls until I got fed up of the wind and made my way back to the slightly more sheltered beach.
I love these little birds – no idea what they are though (I’m terrible at bird identifying)
Remains of the old pier next to the new one…
It’s not all about the beach of course – there’s always something else which catches my eye when I have my camera around my neck. Like the first cherry blossom I saw this year…
… and gorgeous light coming through a stained glass church window.
Plenty to see when you’re in the mood to be inspired!
